Sesimbra - Beautiful Fisherman's Village

Sesimbra - Fisherman's Village south of Lisbon

Last January whilst on holiday back home, I decided to go for a quick photo walk in one very quaint Fisherman's village called Sesimbra, south of Lisbon.
Sesimbra is well known for its pristine beaches but most important for its culinary experience with fantastic seafood restaurants, where, it is difficult to go wrong and have a bad experience.
Also, the landscape and the village itself is very beautiful and quaint full of traditions where you can see a whole lot within such a small village and surroundings.

This time I just went to the Marina itself and took a short walk close to the sea.

Almada's fisherman's village - Fonte da Telha

Fisherman's Village

It's been six months since my last blog. I am sorry, but life, sometimes throws us curve balls and we have to just accept, confront and carry on with life. It has been intense six months, but finally, here I am.

Last February while on a business trip, I took some days off and came home. It's always great to come home and be with the family.

I decided to go for a photo walk to a beach near my home, called Fonte da Telha. It is a typical fisherman village with a beautiful beach where in summertime its full of visitors. Also at night, it turns to be a great nightspot with a couple of nice clubs right on "top" of the beach.

This time, I took my FUJI X70 and decided on monochrome photos. I think that for this kind of village, monochrome is beautiful as it reminds people how this village was in the olden times.

The morning was glorious, and being "winter"it was empty of tourists, just the local people enjoying themselves.

Also, Last minute decision to upload some colour photos from this walk.

Please enjoy.

Seascapes, Waves, Waves

Simply Gorgeous Saturday

As with most weekends we try to go every weekend to the beach as there is nothing much to do in Maputo.

The beach we have been going for quite some time is called macaneta beach in the Marraquene District of Maputo, which is about 40 minutes drive from Maputo (or about 30 km).

Anyway, as always, we were blessed with a beautiful day, and lucky me I did take my FUJI X70 this time, to make some photos of the seascapes during my beach walk.

As I was walking I was contemplating the patterns the waves were making, so I decided to make some photos of them.

Really enjoyed the walk and, as a result here are some photos of my walk.

NOTICE - HELP

Anyway, Some of you have been great followers, and know my story, what happened to me, my stolen gear and all.

Also, you know that my biggest joy while in Mozambique is to always give an INSTAX photo to all the young people I take photos of, just to see their happy faces, priceless, warming my heart.

My stock of FUJIFILM Instax Mini film is finishing and I need help in getting some more.
Also, you know that some of my gear was stolen (X100T, 56mm, etc...) so hobby money is very scarce after that, so I decided to try an initiative in setting up a Paypal account with a link so that anyone can send me (Donation) any amount for me to restock on INSTAX film, to keep me giving the portraits I make to the beautiful people of Mozambique.

Its simple, simply click the below link and put the amount you wish to send me and voilá.

Much Appreciate you support on this initiative.

All photos exclusively done with FUJIFIM's excellent camera, namely the X70.

Quick Note - Beauty all round

Beauty landscape and faces

Last February we had had a long weekend and went to Inhambane Province, namely to Tofo beach for a couple of days rest (well from work anyway).

From Maputo to Tofo beach is about a 6 hour drive (Yes, here we measure distance in time not Kilometres), or if you want 500km from Maputo.

What I love from Mozambique is that its people are all round beautiful people, really.

Below are some photos I made from the 3 day break we had.

I suggest that you see the photos in full screen mode

Captivating Face

Tofo - Part II of III

The second day of a great weekend

If you missed my first post, please click on this link Tofo - Part I of III.

This is the second part, which means it is about our second day. We woke up relatively early, all still tired from the previous day's activities (fighting the waves and long walks), did a beautiful breakfast and took a drive to see the landscape at tofinho and visit the "Assassination hole" then pass through Inhambane airport and go to Barra beach for the day.

Tofinho's landscape

 On our way to Inhambane

As with all travelers, our friend had a puncture so we had to go to inhambane to look for a place to fix the puncture.
On the way I made these beautiful children playing by the side of the road next to their probably great-grand mother selling some kind of fruit.

Inhambane Airport

As we were close to Inhambane airport we decided to visit and stop for an espresso. It was amazing to see such a small airport but with passengers waiting for the next airplane.

Small, nice clean airport

Waiting at the only coffee shop

Barra beach

Before we got to our place at the beach in Barra we rode around to see the scenery and dream a bit.
Beautiful landscapes and beach houses.

Our beach for the day

What a wonderful end of the day this was. beautiful cloudy sunset, but always great to see an African sunset.
