Quick Saturday Morning Photo Walk

Maputo City Photowalk

It was a quick photo walk in Maputo city centre this Saturday morning.

Fujifilm did something magic that pulls people out of bed to go do photos, really magical.

All the below photos shot in RAW, imported to Lightroom and converted to ACROS, which I think is my new favourite film simulation for Street photography.

Please enjoy them.

Quick family visit - Lisbon - Part II

Always great to come home - Part II

This is the second post of my visit to Lisbon from last month of October.

National Pantheon

This time I am posting my visit to the Feira da Ladra which literally translates into (Thieve's Market), Ladra meaning Woman thief.
It is the biggest flea market that spans several streets of Lisbon's Alfama Neighbourhood.

It is believed that the market has its roots in the middle ages, the 12th century, when traders used to go to the market to sell their products as well as stolen goods (as the name suggests).

Relaxed and Friendly Atmosphere

The market has a great reputation because of its friendly atmosphere. The Sellers nowadays are legal

It is setup twice a week (Tuesdays and Saturdays) where SAturday been the better day to go in my point of view.

At the Feira da Ladra we can buy virtually anything we want.

Friendly Sellers

A market with a view

The market is located between the Panteão Nacional (National Pantheon) and the gorgeous São Vicente Church where the world famous TRAM 28 stops. Nearby you also have the Jardim do Botto Machado (Beautiful park) where we can get a stunning view of the roof tops of the Alfama Neighbourhood and the Tagus River.

The market is not only to be visited to buy anything.

I decided to do a photo walk and make some street photos of the lovely Saturday

All photos where made using the FUJI X-T1 and the X-70.

Catembe - South Side of the Bay

Catembe

Catembe lies on the south side of the Umbuluzi river bank from Maputo. We can reach Catembe by ferry which takes about 5 min. (smaller ones) or about 10 min with the big ferry.
We decided to go for Sunday lunch with a couple of friends and relax there watching the beautiful view of Maputo.

It was our first time there and, apart from the dirty beach of which we have to walk to get to our restaurant, the views are just fabulous.

Took my Fuji X70 and made some really nice photos of this beautiful Sunday.

Maputo street walk - 24th April

A Quick photo walk

Yesterday morning was such a great morning start I picked up my FUJI X70 and decided to go for a walk.
This time I tried to focus more on a documentary side of photography, trying to show the not so touristic side of Maputo.

Compared to the day before where the temperature reached 42ºC, the temperature was about 26ºC just fine for a relaxed walk.

Beautiful Trees

One thing I find fascinating are the beautiful trees in Maputo. Just awesome
